This large house is located in the quaint village of Marlborough, near Salcombe in the South Hams. A charming, quaint village with a shop and traditional pubs in an area of outstanding natural beauty in South Devon. From the large balcony on the first floor you can enjoy panoramic views of glorious rolling countryside leading to the coast just a couple of miles away. You and your party can relax in sumptuous comfort enjoying spacious, state-of-the-art facilities within a period setting retaining the character of the old building.
The Old Vicarage itself offers accommodation for either twenty two people or an additional fourteen if needed using the adjoining east wing of the house. The Old Vicarage is available on a self-catered, or totally-catered basis for large groups of up to 75 people.
The house has been recently totally renovated to a very high standard, retaining the character of the original building, but introducing a lavish level of comforts and facilities to ensure you and your guests feel pampered and indulged!
Malborough is dominated by All Saints Church, a landmark which can be viewed for many miles around (if anybody is lost and wants to get back to the Old Vicarage they only have to head for the church - this large house is adjacent!). The Church dates back to the 13th century and several local manors were mentioned in the Domesday book. The village is more tranquil than Salcombe and Kingsbridge, and offers its own character with many thatched cottages and old houses.
There is a post office plus garage with a little supermarket close by the Old Vicarage, together with two public houses and The Lodge Hotel. The owner of the Old Vicarage also operates the hotel which is 100 metres from the house and which can provide additional accommodation for up to nineteen guests. In addition two further holiday cottages each accommodation for a further six guests are also available to rent.
