Large Self Catering House:

The Old Mine House - Dartmoor, Devon

The Old Mine House is a Devon holiday adventure. Built in 1855 for the captain of the copper mine, the fully renovated, Grade II listed country dwelling hides in nine tranquil wooded acres of Dartmoor National Park , a few miles north of Plymouth.
Perfect for large groups - seven bedrooms - sleeping eighteen - twenty - Selfcatering.
The imposing house, reached by a discreet 600-yard country track assuring privacy, is surrounded by rambling farmland, overlooking sleepy Horrabridge on the River Walkham (known for its ancient bridge). Badgers, buzzards plus owls daily frequent the wild grounds, as well as the occasional fox, deer in addition to heron. From the gate, the view to nearby Cornwall is outstanding; from the door, an idyllic woodland footpath crosses the stream and winds through bluebell glades towards rugged moor, or, past the large manor and across the meadow, to emerge at the friendly village pub.
Private and safe for youngsters, complementing a large meadow, with its badminton net and shaded pond, is an adventure play area beside this large house comprising of swings, tree house, and Wendy house. Goats, ducks, geese, chickens and inquisitive guinea-fowl graze the quiet pastoral grounds. Hammocks, summerhouse, apple trees, garden seats, rhododendrons, wetland nature area, log cabin/sauna, scenic lookout tower, covered permanent barbeque/picnic area complete a picture of rural relaxation.
