Large Holiday Cottage Info: Large holiday cottage: Orroland Lodge - Kirkcudbright, Scotland.
Orroland Lodge in Kirkcudbright, Scotland is unique amongst large holiday houses in Scotland, thanks in large part to its splendid coastal location. Enjoy the spacious, elegant and comfortable accommodation in this former shooting lodge. Relax on the sheltered, sunny terrace and feast your eyes on the views across the Solway Firth to the Cumbrian mountains. You are a stone's throw from the steep wooded slope leading down to the private rocky shoreline, where you will find driftwood to collect and rock pools and caves to discover.
The large flat rocks are ideal for barbecues, picnics and sunbathing. We offer wireless broadband at Orroland Lodge.
Explore the landscaped grounds which are ever changing with the seasons. Walk through carpets of snowdrops, daffodils, bluebells or rhododendrons and mature woodland with specimen trees. The woods and seashore are home to roe deer, buzzards, migratory birds and porpoises.
This large century old lodge is continuously being improved, always reaching new, even higher standards of comfort and convenience rarely found in selfcatering large holiday houses. It houses fourteen guests very comfortably. The large drawing room with open fire, spacious panelled dining room and well equipped kitchen all add to Orroland Lodges attraction as an unrivalled location for holidays for groups of friends, special occasions, wedding receptions, family reunions and parties. You can rent this fine house on a weekly basis; short holiday breaks are sometimes available by special arrangement, particularly November - Easter.
Our prices include all bedding and linen and towels. Kitchen, tea and cloakroom towels are all provided, along with oven gloves and bathmats. There are two cots and a highchair.
We welcome dogs. There is a charge of £10 per dog, with a maximum of three dogs per house. Dogs must be kept under control and not disturb wildlife or livestock. They must have their own bedding and keep off the furniture. There is a dog kennel and run next to this large house.
